We at the Logansport Art association are preparing for a brand new show in May 2022! We are inviting Amateur artists to bring in their work for display and the chance to win prize money, as well as place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place ribbons! We also have a Best of Show award, a People’s Choice award (voted on by the public) and the most important of all, the Kathy Ditmire Award, in honor of the show’s name sake! This show is for anyone aged 16 and up. You will be able to enter and compete in the categories of painting, (anything that has paint of any type), Drawing, or Mixed Media (pieces that combine 2 or more mediums like paint and marker, or pastels and paint, etc.) This show is not for those who are already considered professionals. This show is for those who create art just because they enjoy it. Kathy was a beloved teacher in our schools, a board member here at the LAA, and a good friend. She did art for her family and friends, and for herself! Just to enjoy the beauty! Just to share a smile! That’s what we are looking for in our inaugural “Wne Down” show… a breath of fresh air, a piece of your heart! Won’t you please consider joining us in nurturing each other’s souls and honoring my good friend, Kathy Ditmire? For those of you included in this email who are already accomplished artists and not considered amateurs anymore, won’t you please come and support us at the reception on June 9th between 5:30 and 7:00pm? This is going to be a big one, and one near and dear to my heart!
